€5 for every garment

How it works

Five minutes at the kitchen table and a trip to the post office.

  1. Give it a wash

    One last wash so it travels fresh. Faded, stretched, stained or torn is all fine.

  2. Pack it in anything

    Any envelope, box or old parcel bag. We don't send out return bags, so no new packaging gets made.

  3. Add a note

    Your name and email on a slip of paper, so we know who to thank. Bought it from one of our partners? Add the shop's name.

  4. Post it to us

    Send it to us in Drogheda. The address is just below.

  5. Get your €5

    When it lands, we email you a €5 code for every garment. Then wear something new to bits.

No return bag needed. Any envelope or box will do, and the one it came in is perfect. Postage is paid by you.

Bought from us

We email you a €5 code for planetfriendly.ie for every garment, within a few hours of your parcel arriving.

Bought from a partner

Some of our clothes are sold in our partners' own shops. Your €5 code is for the shop you bought from. We send that shop your name and email, and they email you the code.

Questions

What can I send back?

Anything made by Planet Friendly Threads: t-shirts, jumpers, hoodies, kids' and baby clothes, and tote bags. Look for our label or the planetfriendly.ie link inside the collar.

Does it have to be in good condition?

No. Send it when you're finished with it, however worn. Holes, stains, fading and stretched necks are all welcome. Please wash it first.

Can I send clothes from other brands?

Not yet. We can only take back clothes we made, because we know exactly what they're made of.

When will I get my code?

For clothes bought from us, within a few hours of your parcel arriving. For clothes bought from a partner's shop, we send the partner your name and email within a few hours of your parcel arriving, and they email you the code.

Posting from outside Ireland?

You're welcome to. From outside the EU, Great Britain included, the post office will ask for a customs form: describe the parcel as used clothing for recycling, with no commercial value.

What happens to my old clothes?

We remake them into new clothes. Every garment that comes home is a step towards a full circle clothing industry on the island of Ireland.
